High river levels on Tuesday may lead to flooding. Flooding is possible on 27/01/2026, as a lot of rain fell in Storm Chandra (40mm). Flooding may still be affecting Ashurst Bridge and property at Woodlands Road. Impacts are not expected in the lower Bartley Water at Eling, Totton and Rumbridge. River levels have started to fall and will continue to fall overnight. Further showers are forecast for the next couple of days. We are monitoring rainfall and river levels along the Bartley Water. Ensure any flood protection products you may have remain operational. Flood water could be deep, avoid flooded roads. This message will be updated by 15:00 on 28/01/2026.

High river levels today have led to flooding as a lot of rain (40mm) fell overnight. Flooding is affecting Ashurst Bridge and property at Woodlands Road. Impacts are not expected in the lower Bartley Water at Eling, Totton and Rumbridge. Light showers are forecast this evening (27/01/2026). River levels and flood risk should begin to reduce at Ashurst Bridge by 12:00 27/01/2026 and will fall slowly in the following 24 hours. We are checking flood defences along the Bartley Water. Consider activating any flood protection products you may have. Flood water could be deep, avoid flooded roads. This message will be updated by 12:00 28/01/2026.

High river levels on Tuesday may lead to flooding.  Flooding is possible on 27 January 2026 from 03:00 as a lot of rain is forecast (25mm).  If as much rain falls as forecast, flooding could affect land, roads and gardens at Woodlands and Ashurst. There could also be impacts at Totton, Rumbridge and Eling, over high water. High tide at Southampton is at 05:24 and at 06:19 on 27/01/2026. Higher river levels than Wednesday, 21/01/2026, are expected. Rain associated with Storm Chandra is forecast this evening, overnight and into tomorrow. River levels and flood risk will remain high throughout tomorrow.  We are monitoring rainfall and river levels .  Consider activating any flood protection products you may have . Flood water could be deep, avoid flooded roads.  This message will be updated by 11:00AM on 27 January 2026 or as the situation changes.

High river levels on Thursday may lead to flooding.  Flooding is possible on 18 December 2025 from 16:00, as a lot of rain (46mm) fell on Thursday.  Flooding could affect land, roads and gardens at Woodlands and Ashurst. Impacts are not expected at Totton, Rumbridge or Eling. Property flooding at Woodlands is possible. Rain is forecast to continue until 16:00 on 18/12/2025. River levels and flood risk should begin to reduce in Ashurst Bridge by 22:00 on 18/12/2025.  We are checking flood defences along the Bartley Water.  Consider activating any flood protection products you may have . At Ashurst Bridge and Woodland Road (near to Hazel Grove), the water level is high and rising. In the last 18 hours, nearly half a month’s rain (26mm) has been recorded at Testwood. Over the next hour, out of bank flooding will affect land, roads and gardens at Woodlands and Ashurst. Impacts are not expected at Totton, Rumbridge or Eling. Scattered showers are forecast for the rest of the day. The water level will begin to fall by 14:00 this afternoon (24/02/2025). Property flooding is not expected. Our operational staff will work to ensure the river remains free of any reported blockages. In Ashurst and Woodlands, avoid flooded roads near the river, as flood water will be deep in some locations. This Flood Alert will be updated by 11:00 on Tuesday 25/02/2025.

At Ashurst Bridge and Woodland Road (near to Hazel Grove), the water level is high and rising. In the last 24 hours, 30mm of rain has been recorded in Lyndhurst. This is a large amount in a short period of time. In the next few hours, out of bank flooding will affect land, roads and gardens at Ashurst and Woodlands. Rainfall should have now cleared the area, but further rain is forecast for this evening 05/01/2025. Given the amount of rain affecting the area, river levels will continue to rise. High tide at 03:15 tomorrow morning, Monday 06/01/2025, is forecast to be higher than normal (2.53m AOD). Our operational staff are checking defences and looking for obvious blockages in the Bartley Water. We continue to monitor the forecast. In Ashurst and Woodlands, avoid flooded roads near the river, as flood water will be deep in some locations. This Flood Alert will be updated by 12:00 on Monday 06/01/2025.

At Ashurst Bridge and Woodland Road (near to Hazel Grove), the water level is high and rising. In the last 10 hours, half a month’s rain (32mm) has been recorded in Testwood. This is a large amount in a short period of time, especially when it follows a wet weekend. From 09:00 Wednesday morning (27/11/2024) out of bank flooding will affect land, roads and gardens at Woodlands and Ashurst. The depth of water in roads at Ashurst could be significant. Impacts are not expected at Totton, Rumbridge or Eling. Rain clears to the east at 09:00 and the rest of Wednesday should remain dry. The river should peak around 11:00 27/11/2024 and will remain high for at least an hour before it finally begins to fall. Our operational staff will ensure that reported blockages are cleared. We continue to monitor the forecast. Please avoid driving through floodwater, it will be very deep in some locations in Ashurst. This Flood Alert will be updated by 12:00 on 28/11/2024.

The water level in the Bartley Water is high, following 33 mm of rain, which was recorded at Testwood yesterday. The water level is currently falling but today (Sunday 24/11/24) further rain (20-35mm) is forecast in Hampshire before Storm Bert finally clears the area. If rain impacts the river, then the river level will rise in response and this may cause property flooding. Our operational staff will ensure the river is free of any reported blockages. Please take appropriate action to ensure you can protect property if required. We continue to monitor the forecast. This Flood Alert will be updated by 13:00 on Monday 25/11/24.

At Ashurst Bridge and Woodland Road (near to Hazel Grove), the water level is high and rising. In the last 12 hours, half a month’s rain (45mm) has been recorded in Testwood. This is a large amount in a short period of time. Over the next hour, out of bank flooding will affect land, roads, and gardens at Woodlands and Ashurst. The depth of water in roads at Ashurst could be significant. Impacts are not expected at Totton, Rumbridge or Eling. Storm Bert will continue to impact the area until 05:00 this morning when there will be a brief respite. The river should peak around 06:00 this morning (24/11/24). A further 20-30mm is then forecast throughout Sunday. If this additional rain impacts the river, it may cause property flooding. Our operational staff will ensure that reported blockages are cleared. We continue to monitor the forecast. Over the next 24 hours, please take appropriate action to ensure you can protect property if required. This Flood Alert will be updated by 14:00 on 24/11/24

At Ashurst Bridge and Woodland Road (near to Hazel Grove), the water level is high and rising. In the last 12 hours, 20mm of rain has been recorded at Testwood. This is a large amount in a short period of time. Over the next hour, out of bank flooding will affect land, roads and gardens at Woodlands and Ashurst. Impacts are not expected at Totton, Rumbridge or Eling. Most rainfall has now cleared the area. Water levels will peak at around 19:00 this evening (22/02/2024) but will remain high until tomorrow morning (23/02/2024). Property flooding is not currently expected. Tomorrow (23/02/2024), only a very small amount of rain (up to 3mm) is forecast in Hampshire. This should allow river levels to return to normal around mid-day tomorrow (23/02/2024). Our operational staff are checking defences and looking for obvious blockages in the Bartley Water. We continue to monitor the forecast. In Ashurst and Woodlands, avoid flooded roads near the river, as flood water will be deep in some locations. This Flood Alert will be updated at 15:00 on Friday 23/02/2024.

At Ashurst Bridge and Woodland Road (near to Hazel Grove), the water level is high and rising. In the last 24 hours, 36mm of rain has been recorded in Lyndhurst. Over the next hour, out of bank flooding will affect land, roads and gardens at Woodlands and Ashurst. Impacts may be seen at Totton, Rumbridge or Eling with a high spring tide this morning at 10:15 and 12:20 on 09/02/2024. The river may just reach top of the bank at the peak of the tide. Some road flooding may also occur. Water levels will remain high but should fall on Friday afternoon. Rainfall should clear the area in the next 12 hours. We will ensure the river remains free of any reported blockages. We continue to monitor the forecast. In Ashurst and Woodlands, avoid flooded roads near the river, as flood water will be deep in some locations. This Flood Alert will be removed or updated by 18:00 on 09/02/2024.
