Water levels in the Monks Brook are high. Storm Dennis has brought 23mm of rain, which has been recorded at Otterbourne in the last 15 hours. In the next few hours, the river will rise to bank full. It may also flood roads in Chandlers Ford, such as Stoneham Way, from Chestnut Way to the M27. The Rec ground at Fleming Park will also see impacts. Further heavy bursts of rain of up to 20mm are expected over the next 12 hours, which will top up river levels. It is possible that we may issue a Flood Warning for onset of property flooding, at Pine Road, Hursley Road, Mead Road (Chandlers Ford) and at Pennine Way, Skipton Road and Magpie Lane (Eastleigh). Please remain prepared for flooding. Our operational staff are out keeping debris screens in the area free of blockages. This Flood Alert will be updated by 19:00 on Sunday 16/2/2020.

Monks Brook
Water levels in the Monks Brook are high and rising. In the last 10 hours, 26mm rain has been recorded in Otterbourne. In the next 30 minutes or less the river will rise to bankfull. It will be deep and fast flowing. Road flooding will affect parts of Chandlers Ford in particular at Stoneham Way from Chestnut Way to the M27. The river will also flood parts of the recreational ground at Fleming Park. Further heavy rain will continue over the next 3 hours. Residents nearest the river should be aware that flooding may occur, especially in Chandlers Ford at Pine Road, Hursley Road, Mead Road and in Eastleigh at Pennine Way, Skipton Road and Magpie Lane. Our operational staff are in Chandlers Ford and Eastleigh clearing debris screens in order to keep the river free of blockages. Please report blockages to our incident hotline on 0800 807060. Water levels in the Monks Brook are high and rising. 31mm of rain has been recorded at Otterbourne in the last 24 hours. On a wet catchment, this is a significant amount of rain. Further heavy rain is expected this evening and overnight into Friday morning (20/12/2019). The river will rise to a higher level than seen earlier this morning (19/12/2019). This could cause flooding impacts along Stoneham Way, from Chestnut Way to the M27 and in the recreation ground at Fleming Park. Depending on the intensity and volume of the forecast rain, a Flood Warning may be issued for the onset of property flooding. At Pine Road, Hursley Road, Mead Road (Chandlers Ford) and at Pennine Way, Skipton Road and Magpie Lane (Eastleigh), please continue to be prepared for flooding. Water levels in the Monks Brook are high. Overnight, 26mm of rain was recorded at Otterbourne. This is a very large volume in a short period of time. From 11:00 this morning and into Friday (20/12/2019) further heavy rain is expected. With levels already elevated, any additional rainfall will cause the river to rise to bank full. It may also flood roads in Chandlers Ford, such as Stoneham Way, from Chestnut Way to the M27. The Rec ground at Fleming Park will also see impacts. Depending on the intensity and volume of rain which affects the river this afternoon, it is possible that we may issue a Flood Warning for onset of property flooding. At Pine Road, Hursley Road, Mead Road (Chandlers Ford) and at Pennine Way, Skipton Road and Magpie Lane (Eastleigh), please remain prepared for flooding.
