River Meon
The water level in the River Meon at Titchfield is slowly falling but remains high. Bands of persistent rain, bringing up to 10mm, are forecast overnight. This is only a moderate amount but is significant given how saturated the catchment is. Overnight (04/04/2024) and into the morning, out of bank flooding could continue to impact fields at Titchfield Hill with high water levels at Titchfield Mill, Bridge Cottage and the Tanneries Industrial Estate. Whilst the groundwater and river level remain high, Titchfield High Street will be particularly sensitive to surface water flooding. There is no more significant rainfall forecast for the next five days so river levels should be able to fall. Our operational staff will manage water levels in Titchfield Canal and keep the river clear of reported blockages. We continue to monitor the forecast. This Flood Alert will be updated or removed by 18:00 on Friday 05/04/2024.
