The water level in the Danes Stream is very high. In the last 24 hours, nearly 25 mm of rain has been recorded at Stem Lane. Milford Dam has operated correctly to reduce the amount of water flowing to Milford on Sea. However, the water level in the village is very high and some footpath flooding is occurring. Gardens at Milford on Sea High Street, may also be affected. No impacts are expected at Ashley. It is currently high tide at Lymington, and this will reduce the river’s capacity to drain to the sea until at least 16:00 this afternoon (28/03/2024). Tomorrow (29/03/2024) up to 16mm of rainfall is forecast. Saturday and Sunday are forecast to be fairly dry. Following high tide this afternoon, the level in the river should reduce, and no further impacts are expected. We continue to monitor the forecast. Until this evening, please keep away from the riverside footpaths in Milford on Sea, especially at Milford Bridge opposite Lucerne Road. If footpaths are flooded it will be difficult to see where the edge of the main river channel is. This message will be updated by 10:00 29/03/2024.

Water levels in the Danes Stream remains high but slowly falling. The water level in the village remains high, and there is some footpath flooding. Gardens at Milford-on-Sea High Street may also be affected. Keep away from the riverside footpaths in Milford-on-Sea, especially at Milford Bridge opposite Lucerne Road. If footpaths are flooded, it will be difficult to see where the edge of the main river channel is. These flooding impacts will continue throughout today (06/01/2024). Currently, no rain is forecast for the next 5 days and this will allow the river level to continue to fall. Milford Dam is operating correctly. Water levels in the Danes Stream remain high, but are stable, following yesterday’s rain when 25 mm was recorded at Stem Lane. This is a significant amount of rain in a short period of time. This is in addition to the prolonged rainfall over the last few months. The water level in the village remains high, and there is some footpath flooding. Gardens at Milford-on-Sea High Street may also be affected. Keep away from the riverside footpaths in Milford-on-Sea, especially at Milford Bridge opposite Lucerne Road. If footpaths are flooded, it will be difficult to see where the edge of the main river channel is. These flooding impacts will continue throughout today (05/01/2024) and tomorrow (06/01/2024). The weather is now fairly dry for the next 5 days. We expect water levels to start to fall today (05/01/2024), and levels will continue to fall over the next few days. The water level in the Danes Stream is very high. In the last 8 hours, 33mm of rain has been recorded at Stem Lane. Milford Dam has operated correctly to reduce the amount of water flowing to Milford on Sea. However, the water level in the village is very high and some footpath flooding is occurring. Gardens at Milford on Sea High Street may also be affected. No impacts are expected at Ashley. A small amount of rainfall is forecast overnight. The river will remain high until tomorrow morning (05/01/2024) with flooding impacts continuing throughout that time. We continue to monitor the forecast. We have checked Milford Dam is operating. Please keep away from the riverside footpaths in Milford on Sea, especially at Milford Bridge opposite Lucerne Road. The water level in the Danes Stream remains high. In the last 12 hours, 15mm of rain was recorded at Stem Lane. Milford Dam has operated correctly to reduce the amount of water flowing to Milford on Sea. However, the water level in the village will remain high throughout the course of today (Saturday 9/12/23) and some footpath flooding and garden flooding is likely to affect Milford on Sea High Street. Rain has now cleared the area. On Sunday (10/12/23) and Monday (11/12/23) further showers are forecast with up to 7mm expected each day. Smaller amounts of rain on Sunday and Monday should give the river a chance to recover and levels should fall. We continue to monitor the forecast. Please keep away from riverside footpaths in Milford on Sea, especially at Milford Bridge opposite Lucerne Road. If footpaths are flooded it will be difficult to see where the edge of the main river channel is. This Flood Alert will be removed by 17:00 on Sunday 10/12/2023.

The water level in the Danes Stream remains high, following heavy rainfall (35mm) yesterday (Thursday 07/12/23). Milford Dam has operated correctly to reduce the amount of water flowing to Milford on Sea. However, the water level in the village will remain high throughout the course of today (Friday 08/12/23) and some footpath flooding and garden flooding is likely to affect Milford on Sea High Street. High tide at Lymington is forecast at 07:30 and 19:45 and this will also act to reduce the river’s ability to drain to sea. Today, the weather remains dry. From midnight on Saturday (09/12/23) further heavy rain is forecast with up to 20mm expected. If this impacts the river, then water levels will remain consistently high until Sunday (10/12/23). We continue to monitor the forecast. Please keep away from riverside footpaths in Milford on Sea, especially at Milford Bridge opposite Lucerne Road. If footpaths are flooded it will be difficult to see where the edge of the main river channel is. This Flood Alert will be updated by 17:00 on Saturday 09/12/2023.

The water level in the Danes Stream is high and rising. In the last 18 hours, 35mm of rain has been recorded at Stem Lane. Milford Dam has operated correctly to reduce the amount of water flowing to Milford on Sea. However, the water level in the village is very high and some footpath flooding is occurring. Gardens at Milford on Sea High Street, may also be affected. No impacts are expected at Ashley. High tide at Lymington is forecast at 18:30 and 20:15 (07/12/2023). This will act to reduce the river’s ability to drain to sea. Over the next 2 hours, very light rain will continue to affect the area with 1-2mm expected. Following high tide this evening, the level in the river should reduce, and no further impacts are expected. We continue to monitor the forecast. We have checked Milford Dam is operating. Please keep away from riverside footpaths in Milford on Sea, especially at Milford Bridge opposite Lucerne Road. The water level in the Danes Stream remains very high. In the last 24 hours, more than half a month’s rain (50 mm) has been recorded at Stem Lane. Milford Dam has operated correctly to reduce the amount of water flowing to Milford on Sea. However, the water level in the village is very high and some footpath flooding is occurring. Gardens at Milford on Sea High Street, may also be affected. It is currently high tide at Lymington, which will act to reduce the river’s capacity to drain to the sea until at least 14:00 this afternoon (21/10/21). Over the next few days, the weather will remain dry. Following high tide this afternoon, the level in the river should reduce, and no further impacts are expected. We continue to monitor the forecast. We have checked Milford Dam is operating. Until later on this afternoon, please keep away from the riverside footpaths in Milford on Sea, especially at Milford Bridge, opposite Lucerne Road.
