River levels are steady but remain high at the Downton Iron Bridge river gauge and Fordingbridge pumping station due to to prolonged rainfall and high groundwater levels. Flooding is still possible, and areas most at risk include Roman Quay, Timbermill Court and Bowerwood in Fordingbridge. Further rain is expected today and over the next few days. We are closely monitoring the situation. Please avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses, and do not attempt to walk, cycle or drive through flood water. Never drive through flood water, just 30cm of fast flowing water is enough to move your car. Check local authority websites for road closures.
