Groundwater levels in the Kimpton and Lilley Bottom area are considerably higher than expected for this time of year. The main areas at risk of groundwater flooding are around Kimpton, including Lye Hill, Whiteway and Claggy Bottom, along the upper River Mimram Valley and the area along Lilley Bottom from Chalk Hill to Law Hall Lane. We expect groundwater levels to remain high for the next few weeks although levels are starting to drop. The most important thing to do to prepare for groundwater flooding is to have a personal flood plan. We are monitoring the situation closely. The next scheduled update is Wednesday 19 June 2024.
