River levels are high but stabilising as a result of heavy rainfall. The risk of flooding remains. Flooding is possible to properties in and around Staplehurst and Chickenden Lane. Peak levels will be similar to the flooding on 28 December 2020. No further significant rainfall is forecast until Saturday 16 January 2021. Levels are falling near Smarden but we expect river levels to remain high, rising in the lower Beult until 11am today, Friday 15 January 2021. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are actively monitoring the situation and are out on the ground checking and clearing any blockages and debris from the river. Please move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers between Smarden and Yalding, which may be flooded. This message will be updated by 9pm this evening, Friday 15 January 2021, or as the situation changes.

River levels are continuing to rise as a result of heavy rainfall overnight and today. Flooding of property, roads and low lying land is expected from 3pm today, Thursday 14 January. Property flooding is possible around Smarden and around Chickenden Lane. Peak levels are expected to be similar to those seen on 28 December 2020. We are closely monitoring the situation and our incident response staff are out on the ground checking and clearing any blockages and debris from rivers. Please move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety and move family, pets and cars to safety. The risk of flooding remains from the River Beult. Levels are now falling between Bethersden and Headcorn. Levels remain high at Staplehurst and Stilebridge but should begin to decline by late morning of Monday 28 December. Peak levels are not currently expected to be as high as those experienced last winter. Wintry showers are forecast today. Please avoid driving through floodwater. River levels remain very high as a result of heavy rainfall. Flooding of property, roads and low lying land is expected to continue this evening, Sunday 27 December 2020. We believe there is a possibility of flooding for properties around Smarden, Chickenden Lane and Clapper Lane. River levels have peaked this afternoon at Smarden and have started to fall slowly. Flood conditions are expected to continue overnight. River levels are expected to peak at Stilebridge at around 10am on Monday 28 December. We are closely monitoring the situation. Further heavy showers are possible overnight but are not expected to cause additional flooding. This message will be updated by 9am on Monday 28 December, or as the situation changes.

River levels have risen as a result of heavy rainfall. Flooding of property, roads and low lying land is expected from 1pm today, Sunday 27 December 2020. We believe there is a possibility of flooding for properties on and around Chickenden Lane and Clapper Lane. We expect river levels to remain high overnight into Monday 28 December and to reach similar levels to those experienced in March 2020. We are closely monitoring the situation. River levels remain high but have fallen between Bethersden and Hawkenbury and are now beginning to fall between Stilebridge and Hunton. River levels peaked in Hunton at around midnight this morning, Saturday 7 March. Flooding of some vulnerable properties is still possible, but the risk in this area is now reducing. Flooding of local roads and low lying land is likely to continue until Sunday, 8 March. We are closely monitoring the situation and have staff in the area supporting partners and the community. Residents should maintain any property flood protection products and move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety. Please avoid contact with flood water and remain safe in the area of concern. Further rainfall is forecast for Sunday but this is not currently expected to lead to any further significant impacts. This Flood Warning message will be updated or removed by 12pm Saturday 7 March, or as the situation changes.

River levels continue to rise on the lower river Beult as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property is expected to continue. We believe there is a possibility of flooding for properties on and around Chickenden Lane, Staplehurst. No further rainfall is forecast until Sunday. We expect river levels to rise on the lower river Beult until 4am, 07/03/20. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are out on the ground and liaising with emergency services and our partners. Please activate any property flood protection measures you may have, such as flood barriers and air brick covers and move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety. River levels have risen and remain very high around Smarden and are expected to continue to rise towards Stilebridge during Friday morning, following persistent heavy rainfall yesterday. Flooding of properties around Smarden, Headcorn and around Chickenden Lane is likely. Peak flood levels at Smarden are expected between 2am and 4am and peak level at Headcorn and Hawkenbury are expected between 11am and 3pm on Friday 6 March. We are closely monitoring the situation from our incident room and have had staff patrolling the area. Please move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety, and remain safe in the area of concern. Other areas may still experience impacts so please avoid contact with flood waters, standing waters may remain even as the river levels fall. No further rainfall is forecast.
