River levels remain high but have fallen between Bethersden and Hawkenbury and are now beginning to fall between Stilebridge and Hunton. River levels peaked in Hunton at around midnight this morning, Saturday 7 March. Flooding of some vulnerable properties is still possible, but the risk in this area is now reducing. Flooding of local roads and low lying land is likely to continue until Sunday, 8 March. We are closely monitoring the situation and have staff in the area supporting partners and the community. Residents should maintain any property flood protection products and move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety. Please avoid contact with flood water and remain safe in the area of concern. Further rainfall is forecast for Sunday but this is not currently expected to lead to any further significant impacts. This Flood Warning message will be updated or removed by 12pm Saturday 7 March, or as the situation changes.

River levels are now falling between Bethersden and Staplehurst and have stabilised between Hawkenbury and Stilebridge. Levels should continue to decline overnight and throughout Saturday 7 March. Our incident response staff are liaising with emergency services and our partners. Please avoid contact with flood water and remain safe in the area of concern. This message will be updated by 10am tomorrow morning, Saturday 7 March, or as the situation changes.

River levels continue to rise on the lower river Beult as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property is expected to continue. We believe there is a possibility of flooding for properties on and around Chickenden Lane, Staplehurst. No further rainfall is forecast until Sunday. We expect river levels to rise on the lower river Beult until 4am, 07/03/20. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are out on the ground and liaising with emergency services and our partners. Please activate any property flood protection measures you may have, such as flood barriers and air brick covers and move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety. This message will be updated by 8pm this evening, 06/03/20, or as the situation changes.

River levels have risen and remain very high around Smarden and are expected to continue to rise towards Stilebridge during Friday morning, following persistent heavy rainfall yesterday. Flooding of properties around Smarden, Headcorn and around Chickenden Lane is likely. Peak flood levels at Smarden are expected between 2am and 4am and peak level at Headcorn and Hawkenbury are expected between 11am and 3pm on Friday 6 March. We are closely monitoring the situation from our incident room and have had staff patrolling the area. Please move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety, and remain safe in the area of concern. Other areas may still experience impacts so please avoid contact with flood waters, standing waters may remain even as the river levels fall. No further rainfall is forecast. This message will be updated by 11am tomorrow morning, Friday 6th March, or as the situation changes.

River levels have risen as a result of persistent heavy rainfall today, Thursday 5th March. Consequently, flooding of property is imminent. We believe there is a possibility of flooding for properties on and around Chickenden Lane. Further rainfall is forecast over the next 3 hours. We are closely monitoring the situation. The Flood Warning for the River Beult remains in force. Levels have fallen slowly throughout Saturday 21 December. Further rain is forecast for Saturday evening over the Beult catchment which could cause levels to increase overnight. Levels are not forecast to reach those seen on Friday 20 December but could still result in flooding of low lying property. We will update this message by 6am on Sunday 22 December.

Heavy showers have held river levels high and they remain at their peak level on the river Beult at Stile Bridge. This warning remains in force in part because levels remain high closer to Stilebridge and because of forecast rainfall overnight. We are continuing to monitor conditions in the catchment and are clearing blockages where they are identified. Residents are recommended to remain vigilant .A few heavy showers are forecast throughout the day before a band of frontal rain passes through overnight from saturday to sunday 21st and 22nd December 2019. River levels will respond to this but given the forecast it is not thought that conditions will be any worse than they were on Friday.

However, levels are still likely to continue to rise slightly between Staplehurst and Stilebridge. Further rain is forecast for Saturday, but this is unlikely to result in significant additional increases in flood levels. However, levels are still likely to continue to rise slightly between Staplehurst and Stilebridge. Further showers are forecast overnight but these are unlikely to result in significant additional increases in flood levels. Following persistent heavy rainfall, levels in the River Beult have risen and are continuing to do so. Rainfall is tailing off today, 20/12/19 and a period of dry weather is expected between now and Saturday morning, 21/12/19. Flooding of property in the upper reaches of the river Beult is possible, especially in the area around Chickenden Lane - within the next few hours, it is anticipated that river levels will continue to rise through the afternoon as this mornings rainfall feeds through the catchment. Further rainfall is forecast to fall Saturday morning and into the evening, river levels will respond. We are monitoring the situation and our staff are patrolling the catchment to check for debris and clear blockages.
