The River Medway at Little Venice and Yalding has now peaked and should continue to decline slowly overnight but, flooding of low lying land and towpaths is likely to persist into the weekend. Levels along the River Beult at Yalding village centre may fluctuate slightly as the peak of the River Beult passes through but generally, levels will also decline slowly overnight. No further rainfall is forecast until Sunday 20 November. This message will be updated by 11am on Saturday 19 November.

The Medway at Little Venice is showing signs of peaking as of 8am on Friday, 18 November. Levels on the Medway between Tonbridge and Yalding have stabilised and no further escalation of flood risk is expected. No significant rainfall is forecast on Friday or Saturday. The removal of this Flood Warning is expected on Friday afternoon. Wider Flood Alerts will still be maintained, possibly until Saturday morning.

Levels in the River Medway and the River Beult will continue to rise slowly overnight at Yalding, and the risk of flooding will remain throughout Friday 18 November. In addition to Little Venice Country Park, flooding is also possible at The Tatt and Acott Fields. No further rain is forecast for at least 48 hours. We will continue to monitor the situation and update this message by 10am on Friday 18 November or as the situation changes.

River levels are forecast to rise as a result of heavy rainfall. Flooding at Little Venice Country Park and Marina is possible from 9pm this evening, Thursday 17 November 2022. Flooding may affect properties in the Little Venice Country Park and low lying properties around Yalding Bridge. Shallow flooding at The Tatt, Acott Fields, Benover Road and Gravelly Ways may also be possible. River levels are expected to continue to rise throughout the rest of the day today. Levels are expected to peak overnight and start to fall again into tomorrow morning, Friday 18 November.
Please activate any property flood protection and prepare for the potential impact to properties this evening and overnight. The weather is expected to remain dry now until Saturday 19 November. Our incident response staff are actively monitoring the situation and we are working with our professional partners to support the affected area. We do not currently expect flooding impacts to the wider Yalding village. This message will be updated by 8pm on Thursday 17 November or as the situation changes.

The risk of flooding remains from the River Beult and River Medway in the Yalding area. River levels on the River Medway are peaking this evening from 6pm on Monday 28 December 2020. The peak flood levels are close to that expected to cause isolated property flooding in the Little Venice Country Park and Marina and low lying properties in Yalding. Please activate any property flood protection products you may have, such as flood barriers and air brick covers. Further isolated showers are possible overnight but they aren’t expected to cause any additional flood impacts. We expect river levels to begin falling from 8pm on Monday 28 December and will continue to fall overnight into Tuesday morning. We continue to monitor the situation closely and are liaising with the emergency services and our partners. Please avoid driving through floodwater. We believe there is a possibility of flooding at Little Venice Country Park and Marina and for shallow flooding at The Tatt and Acott Fields. Shallow flooding along Benover Road and Gravelly Ways may also be possible. Flood depths may be similar to those experienced in December 2019. No further significant rainfall is forecast for today or tomorrow. We expect river levels to remain high overnight and into Monday 28 December.

As flood levels are expected to fall slowly, impacts on local roads, low lying land and vulnerable properties is likely to continue until Sunday morning, 8th March. We are closely monitoring the situation and have staff in the area supporting partners and the community. Residents should maintain any property flood protection products you may have and move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety. Please avoid contact with flood water and remain safe in the area of concern. Further light rainfall is forecast for Sunday morning and a larger band of rain on Monday evening but this is not currently expected to lead to any further significant impacts. This warning remains in force
River levels are falling through the catchment, but remain high between Yalding and Maidstone. The Leigh flood storage reservoir is now empty. It is anticipated that levels will remain high well into the morning of Tuesday 24/12/19.
Monday is forecast to be dry but the occasional shower can not be ruled out.
Weak frontal systems are forecast on Monday and Tuesday night with blustery showers embedded, another system is forecast for Thursday. The current expectation is that these are not likely to be as disruptive as last weeks rainfall. We are monitoring conditions. Residents should remain vigilant as catchments are saturated.

This message is being issued at 2.00pm on Sunday 22/12/19. Levels remain high and are likely to peak between now and 3.00pm today. The level is not expected to rise by more than 25mm. Levels are expected to remain high for some time after this as water drains away.
We are continuing to monitor conditions and are clearing blockages. We are operating the Leigh Flood Storage Area and expect to do so until the afternoon of Christmas Eve. Residents are recommended to remain vigilant. We are working with partners to prevent traffic from passing through the village.
The forecast outlook is for a break in the weather with light showers over the next few days. Rivers will rise a small amount in response to rain that fell on the catchment on Saturday night and Sunday morning.
