High spring tides are forecast to affect the foreshore from St Margaret’s at Cliffe to Sandgate today, Sunday 17/11/2024. Tides will be at their highest between 11:00 and 12:00, with high tide at 11:30. Flooding of roads and low lying land is possible, property flooding is not expected. Flooding may apply two to four hours either side of high tide. Stay away from beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads as large waves and sea spray could be dangerous. We are closely monitoring the situation and our incident response staff are prepared to respond if required. Coastal conditions are expected to improve from Monday 18/11/2024. This message will be updated this afternoon by 18:00, or as the situation changes. For those that use it, the astronomical water level at Dover, will be 3.28m AOD, but due to surge and westerly wind (speed force 5) we expect total water levels of 3.68m AOD.

High spring tides are forecast to affect the foreshore from St Margaret’s at Cliffe to Sandgate tonight, Saturday 16/11/2024. Tides will be at their highest between 22:45 and 23:45, with high tide at 23:15. Flooding of roads and low lying land is possible, property flooding is not expected. Flooding may apply two to four hours either side of high tide. Stay away from beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads as large waves and sea spray could be dangerous. We are closely monitoring the situation and our incident response staff are prepared to respond if required. Further flooding is forecast tomorrow, Sunday 17/11/2024 due to higher than normal tide at 11:30. This message will be updated tomorrow morning by 09:00, Sunday 17/11/2024, or as the situation changes. For those that use it, for tonight tide at 23:15 the astronomical water level at Dover, will be 3.14m AOD, but due to surge and north westerly wind (speed force 4) we expect total water levels of 3.58m AOD.

Tides will be at their highest between 12:30 and 13:30 this afternoon, with high tide at 13:00. Flooding to roads and low lying land is expected at these times, however these conditions may apply two to four hours either side of high tide. We expect flooding to affect coastal areas, particularly low-lying land and roads nearest the sea. Tide levels are now beginning to fall, but please stay aware in case further alerts are issued. This Flood Alert has been issued due to the high tide forecast at 09:00 PM on 24/11/2023. Areas most at risk include coastal areas, particularly low lying land and roads nearest the sea. No property flooding is expected. Flooding is possible at coastal areas, particularly low lying land and roads nearest the sea between 08:00 PM and 11:00 PM on 24/11/2023. This alert will remain in force until after high tide on Saturday morning.  The forecast is for north-westerly force 6 winds throughout the evening. After this tide‚ the weather is more settled and no further impacts are expected. Our incident response staff are closing flood gates and checking defences. We will continue to monitor the forecast and re-issue this alert/warning if necessary. Please be careful along beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads as large waves and sea spray could be dangerous. We will remove this message by 11:00 AM on 25/11/2023.

Some localised flooding may be experienced in Dover around the Wellington Dock. We are closely monitoring the situation.
