River levels are high as a result of heavy rainfall on Sunday night and Monday morning, 26 February. Flooding is affecting low lying land along the New Romney Sewage Arm at Greatstone. The forecast is for mainly dry weather over the next few days. River levels are expected to gradually fall this evening and overnight into Tuesday, 27 February. We continue to monitor the situation and our incident response staff are out on the ground checking structures and clearing debris from the rivers. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near to the watercourse. This message will be updated by 2pm on Tuesday 27 February, or as the situation changes.

River levels have risen as a result of heavy rainfall. Flooding may affect low lying land, roads and footpaths along the New Romney Sewage Arm particularly around Greatstone. Heavy rainfall is expected to continue throughout this morning and river levels are expected to peak on Monday afternoon, 26 February. Be prepared for further warnings and consider acting on your flood plan if you have one. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are out on the ground checking and clearing any blockages and debris from rivers. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses. The Environment Agency has supplied additional pumping capacity at Greatstone Pumping Station to help draw the water level down. The Flood Alert for the New Romney Sewage Arm remains in force due to high water levels in the local drainage system following a week of high rainfall accumulations. The Environment Agency has supplied additional pumping capacity to Greatstone Pumping Station to help draw the water level down. We continue to monitor the level and attend the site on a regular basis. Drier weather is expected today and tomorrow which will assist the reduction in levels. Further rain is forecast for Wednesday 8 November 2023, we will continue to monitor the situation. This message will be reviewed tomorrow morning Tuesday 7th November 2023.

The Flood Alert for the New Romney Sewage Arm remains in force due to high water levels in the local drainage system following a week of high rainfall accumulations. The Environment Agency are in the process of supplying additional pumping capacity to Greatstone Pumping Station to help draw the water level down. We continue to monitor the level and attend the site on a regular basis. Drier weather is expected on Sunday 5 November, and then again on Monday and Tuesday this week. This will assist the reduction in levels.
