Flooding is expected when river levels are at their highest from 8:30 PM on 20/09/2025. Areas most at risk include properties adjacent to the River Darwen, including Ewood Park, Stancliffe Street, Griffin Mill and River Mill. We are monitoring rainfall and river levels and clearing debris from weed screens. Start acting on your flood plan if you have one. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses. River levels have remained high today due to continuing rain. While the rain will cease for a time this evening, a further burst of heavy showers is forecast in the early hours of Sunday and this means that river levels will continue to remain high overnight. The main band of rain should have passed on by 06:00 AM Sunday 24/11/2024 and only the occasional shower is forecast for Sunday. This message will be updated by 08:00 AM on Sunday 24/11/2024.

Rising river levels are expected to cause flooding this afternoon. Flooding is expected from 3 PM on 23/11/2024. Areas most at risk include properties adjacent to the River Darwen, including Ewood Park, Stancliffe Street, Griffin Mill and River Mill. Further heavy rainfall is forecast overnight. We are monitoring rainfall and river levels and closely monitoring the situation. Stay away from floodwater - it contains hidden dangers such as open manhole covers, sewage and chemicals.
