High river levels are expected to cause flooding this afternoon. Flooding is expected on 24 March 2026 . Locations most affected will be properties near the River Wyre at Garstang. River levels are expected to remain high throughout the afternoon on 01/01/2025. Areas most at risk include the area adjacent to the River Wyre between the disused railway embankment and the Lancaster Canal aqueduct. Our incident response staff are in the area and Garstang flood storage basin is in use. Weather conditions are expected to improve throughout the afternoon and no further flooding is expected. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses. Heavy rain will continue until mid morning. Our incident response staff are in the area and Garstang flood storage basin is in use. However, it is expected to reach full capacity imminently, meaning flood risk downstream is increased. Start acting on your flood plan if you have one.
