River levels are rising steadily on the River Wyre due to heavy rainfall.
Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Wyre, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around the area adjacent to the North bank of the River Wyre at Kirkland Bridge covering properties on The Avenue and the A6. Flooding to properties is not forecast at this point. Further rainfall is forecast this afternoon and river levels are expected to remain high. We are monitoring rainfall and river levels closely, as well as checking rivers for blockages in the area.

This Flood Warning has been issued because flooding is expected overnight on 30/12/2021 between 08:30 PM and 11:00 AM on 31/21/2021.
Areas most at risk include the area adjacent to the North bank of the River Wyre at Kirkland Bridge covering properties on The Avenue and the A6.
Flooding is expected at the area adjacent to the North bank of the River Wyre at Kirkland Bridge covering properties on The Avenue and the A6 between 08:30 PM on 30/12/2021 and 11:00 AM on 31/12/2021.
River levels are expected to remain high until midday on 31/12/2021.
