A Flood Alert is in force for the high tide on Monday evening into Tuesday morning. As a result of strong winds associated with Storm Brendan coinciding with the high tide, tidal flooding may occur on low lying land and roads, particularly in and around Hambleton. People are advised to stay away from risk areas and be aware of rising flood water cutting off access routes.
The tide is forecast to peak at 01:00 GMT on Tuesday 14 January, at a level of 5.11 mAOD at Hambleton and 5.01 mAOD at Fleetwood (which converts to 9.91 metres above local datum at Fleetwood Dock). These levels include an approximate surge of 0.6 metres. High water can be expected for 2 hours before and after the peak.
We have checked tidal defence assets and will continue to monitor the situation. High spring tides are reducing and this is likely to be the last flood alert issued during this phase.

Tides are forecast to reach flood alert level along the Wyre Estuary as a result of high spring tides and strong winds. Tides will be at their highest at 14:15 today, 02/09/19. Flooding to roads and farmland is possible at these times, however conditions may apply two hours either side of the high tide. Areas which may be affected include low lying land, roads and coastal paths at Fleetwood Docks and Marina, Fleetwood Marsh Nature Park, Barnaby's Sands, Burn Naze, Sower Carr, Hambleton, Stannah, Trunnah, Thornton, Skippool and Little Eccleston.
Coastal conditions are expected to continue until after the high tides at lunchtime on 03/09/19. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking the forecast and updating messages when necessary.

Flooding to roads and farmland is possible, conditions may apply two hours either side of the high tide. Areas which may be affected include low lying land, roads and coastal paths at Fleetwood Docks and Marina, Fleetwood Marsh Nature Park, Barnaby's Sands, Burn Naze, Sower Carr, Hambleton, Stannah, Trunnah, Thornton, Skippool and Little Eccleston. Coastal conditions are expected to continue until at least Tuesday of this week 03/09/2019.

At this stage, after the one mentioned above no further tides are expected to reach flood alert level, however the flood duty team will monitor the forecast and issue updated information as necessary. Affected areas include low lying land, roads and coastal paths at Fleetwood Docks and Marina, Fleetwood Marsh Nature Park, Barnaby's Sands, Burn Naze, Sower Carr, Hambleton, Stannah, Trunnah, Thornton, Skippool and Little Eccleston.

The high tide at 14:30 this afternoon Sunday 04/08/2019 is not expected to reach flood alert level. However, the tide at 02:45 on Monday morning 05/08/2019 is forecast to exceed the flood alert level. After this, the tides should start to decrease as we near the end of the high spring tide cycle. An updated flood alert message will be issued this afternoon along with any updated details we have.

The peak tide at 02:00 on Sunday morning 04/08/2019 is likely to reach flood alert level and an updated message will be issued this afternoon to reflect this. The Environment Agency Flood Duty Team are closely monitoring the situation. Please take care near low lying roads and paths where flood water may occur.
