Levels on the Rothley Brook remain high in response to persistent rainfall and snow melt today (Wednesday 27 December). Levels are falling at Glenfield but remain steady at Rothley. Levels at Rothley are expected to remain elevated overnight before steadily falling over the course of tomorrow (Thursday 28 December). Properties and low lying areas around Glenfield and Anstey continue to be at risk of flooding. We urge residents to take action and remain vigilant as the situation may change. Avoid walking or driving through flood water. Keep up-to-date on the current weather forecast at www.metoffice.gov.uk and the River and Sea Levels section on the gov.uk website. We are closely monitoring the situation, working with and assisting the council and emergency services. We have teams on the ground checking defences, clearing channels and operating structures. We will update this message if the situation changes, or within 8 hours.

Levels are likely to remain elevated throughout today in response to snow melt. As a result, properties and low lying areas around Glenfield and Anstey may flood today, late morning to midday. We urge residents to take action and remain vigilant as the situation may change. Avoid walking or driving through flood water.
