No further rain is forecast for the next few days, however, we expect water levels to remain high today, Wednesday 8th January. Stay safe and be aware of your local surroundings. No further rain is forecast for the next few days, however, we expect water levels to remain high today, Tuesday 7th January. Stay safe and be aware of your local surroundings. Heavy rain has fallen in the Lower Witham catchment in the last two days. This is causing Car Dyke, Billinghay Skirth and tributaries in the Billinghay area to rise and they are forecast to continue to rise through the early hours of the morning. Low lying areas near to river are already flooded and we now expect properties in the Billighay area to be affected this morning onwards. Low lying properties on North Kyme Drove in North Kyme are expected to be affected first. No significant rainfall is forecast for the next few days, however high flows from upstream coupled with high tide mean that river levels are likely to continue to rise. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings. Please avoid contact with flood water. Our staff are out in the area to check the flood defences, clear blockages, and assist the emergency services and council. We will be closely monitoring the situation and this message will be updated online and on FloodLine on 07/01/25, or before if the situation changes.
