Following the heavy rain on Friday 20th October, high water levels have been seen across the Bain Catchment. Whilst levels are now dropping, the flood warning for River Bain in Coningsby and Tattershall will remain in place as the system reacts, and the peak moves through the wider river system. This is as a precautionary measure only, due to damage to a small section of embankment in the area.

River levels remain high following rainfall associated with Storm Babet and further rainfall throughout Tuesday 24th October. River levels to remain high throughout Thursday 26th of October. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. Heavy rain has fallen in the Bain catchment over the last 48 hours. This has caused the River Bain to rise. This is a precautionary Flood Warning message due to a breach on the left bank of the River Bain. Low lying areas near to the Bain in Tattershall and Coningsby are already flooded and there is potential for properties to be affected this afternoon onwards. We will be closely monitoring the situation and provide updates if the situation changes. Minimal further rainfall is forecast, and therefore river levels are expected to reduce later today. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings. Please avoid contact with flood water. Our staff are out in the area to check the flood defences, clear blockages, and assist the emergency services and council.
