The water levels are expected to remain high in the Barlings Eau for the next few days. Flood water remains on Short Ferry road. The temporary pumps at this location have been temporarily turned off as river levels in the Barlings Eau and River Witham are very high. Low lying properties near the river are most at risk. Stay safe and be aware of your local surroundings. Please avoid contact with flood water and do not walk on flood banks. We are monitoring the situation, and our staff are out in the area to check the flood defences, and to clear blockages and weedscreens. This is causing Barlings Eau to rise and is forecast to continue to remain high through the day. Flood water remains on Short Ferry road. The temporary pumps at this location have been temporarily turned off as river levels in the Barlings Eau and River Witham are very high. Low lying properties near the river are most at risk. River levels have responded and a further 6mm of rain is forecast overnight, Saturday 14th and into tomorrow, Sunday 15th. A band of showers is forecast this afternoon Friday 13th December and a further 4mm of rainfall tomorrow Saturday 14th and on Sunday 15th.
