River Witham

Heavy rain has fallen in the Witham catchment. This is causing the River Witham to rise and it is forecast to continue to rise through the day. Low lying areas near to the river are already flooded and we now expect properties in Grantham to be affected from this afternoon onwards. Low lying properties near the river on Mill Drive and Waterside Drive are expected to be affected first. No further rainfall is forecast, however river levels will remain high . Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings. Please avoid contact with flood water. Our staff are out in the area to check the flood defences, clear blockages, and assist the emergency services and council. We will be closely monitoring the situation and this message will be updated online and on FloodLine by 12:00 on 07/01/25, or before if the situation changes.

Storm Henk has brought heavy rain in the Witham catchment which has fallen onto already saturated ground. This is causing the River Witham to rise and is forecast to continue to rise through the night. Low lying areas near to River Witham are already flooded and we now expect properties to be affected from the early hours of the morning onwards. Low lying properties close to the river on Mill Drive and Waterside Drive are expected to be affected first. The rainfall associated with Storm Henk has mostly fallen, but river levels will continue to rise overnight. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings. Please avoid contact with flood water. Our staff are out in the area to check the flood defences, clear blockages, and assist the emergency services and council. We will be closely monitoring the situation and this message will be updated online and on FloodLine by 16:00 on 3rd January, or before if the situation changes.
