Storm Henk has brought heavy rain in the River Steeping catchment, which has fallen onto already saturated ground. This has caused the River Steeping to rise. Low lying areas near to the River Steeping are already flooded. Further rainfall is forecast for overnight tonight (Thursday 4th Jan) into tomorrow morning which will cause river levels to remain high. Properties in Firsby, close to the Wold Drain are most at risk. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings. Please avoid contact with flood water. Our staff are out in the area to check the flood defences, clear blockages, and assist the emergency services and council.
