Flood Alert issued on 25 Feb 2020 10:29
River Witham, South Delph
Over the weekend we have seen two bands of rain fall in the River Witham area. This means that the River Witham is now rising as the rainfall works its way down the system. This will lead to flooding of low lying land and roads close to the river during Tuesday 25th February onwards. We expect the river to remain high throughout the next few days. Our forecasts indicate that flooding to properties isn't likely and therefore flood warnings are not expected to be issued. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. We are constantly monitoring river levels, and have staff in the field checking for blockages and clearing weedscreens. This message will be updated on Wednesday 26th February.

River Witham, South Delph
Heavy rain last weekend resulted in very high levels in the River Witham. Due to the slow responding nature of this lower part of the catchment it will take several days for the river to drop back down. The high river levels have already caused flooding of low lying land and roads near to the river and several Flood Warnings remain in force for areas where property flooding is possible. River levels are being affected by tide lock, where the Witham is not able to flow out to sea at Boston during periods of high tides. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings. We are constantly monitoring river levels, and have staff in the field checking for blockages and clearing weedscreens. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. This message will be updated on Wednesday evening, 30th October, or as the situation changes
