Further to recent rain over the last week, river levels remain high in the minor watercourses across North Kesteven. These are fed by groundwater sources, which means they will remain high for the rest of the week, or even weeks after the rain has ceased. There will be some continued flooding of low lying land and roads close to rivers following recent rainfall. Our forecasts indicate that flooding to properties isn't likely and therefore flood warnings are not expected to be issued. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. We are constantly monitoring river levels. Following persistent heavy rainfall associated with Storm Dennis over the weekend, we are expecting minor watercourses and river levels throughout North Kesteven to remain high for at least a few more days. A further band of rain is forecast for Wednesday afternoon and evening. Please avoid using low lying footpaths and roads near local watercourses and rivers. We will continue to monitor river levels and will update this message on Wednesday 19th February or as the situation changes.

The A153 road at Billinghay is expected to be affected by flood water, resulting in some impact on public safety. The Environment Agency recommends that you do not drive through flood water. This means that the rivers are now rising, which will lead to flooding of adjacent low lying land and roads from the early morning of Monday 17th February onwards.
