River Tham, River West Glen
Storm Henk has brought heavy rain in the vicinity of the Bythams, which has fallen onto already saturated ground. Rain will continue into the evening of Tuesday 2nd January. This is causing the River Tham to rise and is forecast to continue to rise through tonight and into tomorrow. Low lying areas near to the River Tham are already flooded and we now expect properties to be affected from this afternoon onwards. Low lying properties near the River Tham in Little Bytham are expected to be affected first. The rainfall associated with Storm Henk has mostly fallen, but river levels will continue to rise overnight. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings. Please avoid contact with flood water. Our staff are out in the area to check the flood defences, clear blockages, and assist the emergency services and council. We will be closely monitoring the situation and this message will be updated online and on FloodLine by 16:00 on 3rd January, or before if the situation changes.

River Tham, River West Glen
Heavy rain has been falling on the River Tham catchment over the past 24 hours. The rising river levels have already caused flooding of low lying land and roads in Castle Bytham and Little Bytham, and due to the deteriorating weather conditions we now expect properties in the area to be affected from this evening on Wednesday 23rd December onwards. Low lying properties near the river are most at risk. The river is forecast to continue to rise and peak overnight, and the impacts are likely to last until tomorrow. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings, and avoid contact with flood water. Avoid riverside paths and please stay away from river embankments. Our staff are out in the area to check the flood defences, clear blockages, and assist the emergency services and council. We will be closely monitoring the situation, and this message will be updated by tomorrow morning, 24th December, or as the situation changes.
