Heavy rain has fallen over the River Welland catchment. This has caused the River Welland to rise and low lying areas near to the River Welland in Stamford are already flooded. River levels have peaked upstream and flood water is still making its way down the catchment. As a result of this, we are expecting properties in Stamford to continue to be affected over the weekend, 26/27th December. Low lying properties near the river are most at risk. Stay safe, and be aware of your local surroundings. Avoid riverside paths and please stay away from river embankments and flood water. River levels have peaked upstream and flood water is still making its way down the catchment. As a result we are expecting properties in Stamford to continue to be affected. Levels are expected to start receding overnight however there is more rain due on Sunday and Monday. Low lying properties near the river are most at risk. Stay safe, and aware of your local surroundings. Avoid riverside paths and please stay away from river embankments and flood water.
