River levels are expected to rise during Friday morning and will remain high over the weekend giving a high risk of flooding to low-lying land and roads. Heavy rainfall has affected most of Wales throughout today, Thursday the 20th of September and this will clear to more scattered showers overnight. The combination of ground conditions, existing river levels and forecast rainfall quantities gives a high risk of flooding of low-lying land from Thursday evening through to Friday morning.

The rainfall is forecast to continue until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday the 21st of January. The level of the River Neath at Glyn Neath is expected to reach the flood alert level by 6:00 p.m. The River Dulais between Cilfrew and Aberdulais is currently approaching the flood alert level and is expected to continue to rise until 5:30 p.m. The combination of ground conditions, existing river levels and forecast rainfall quantities gives a high risk of flooding of low-lying land during the next 12 hours.

Further heavy rain is expected throughout Saturday which will keep local levels high throughout the day until Sunday 12th November.
