Following very high water levels in the River Nairn on Monday, a new band of rain will affect the area overnight on Monday night and continuing into Tuesday. The river will begin to rise again overnight and into the day on Tuesday. Although conditions may improve for a time later on Monday afternoon, more rain will follow on Monday night into Tuesday morning. Water levels on the River Nairn are extremely high and will peak on Monday evening.
Flooding to low lying agricultural land, properties and access routes is expected. This includes the area around the River Nairn between Broadley and Fishertown and low lying properties at Firhall and Househill and along Mill Road. Also along the Auldearn Burn at River Park and Balmakeith Park.
High tide at Nairn is around 7.40pm and may increase flooding impacts around the Fishertown area.
