River Skell, River Ure, River Laver

River levels are rising rapidly on the River Laver, River Skell due to Storm Babet. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Laver, River Skell, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around Riverside properties including Firs Avenue and properties either side of Alma Weir. No further significant rainfall is forecast. Our incident rooms are open and we are closely monitoring the situation. Start acting on your flood plan if you have one. Plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. This message will be updated by 08:30 AM on 21/10/2023, or as the situation changes.

River Skell, River Ure, River Laver

The flood warning has been issued for the River Skell at Ripon – Riverside Properties as levels are rising following recent heavy rain. Flooding of properties, gardens, roads and paths is possible tonight, Sunday 20/2/22. The current level at Alma weir is 1.5m, and is approaching peak level. We will update the forecast details as new information becomes available. Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded, and see the GOV.UK website for a 5 day flood forecast and up to date river levels. This message will be updated on Friday morning before 9am, or as the situation changes.
