This flood warning has been issued in response to rising river levels, as a result of localised rainfall and melting snow. Consequently, flooding of property is expected to begin between 20:00 today, 24/02/20 and 05:00 tomorrow, 25/02/20. Areas most at risk are riverside land at Knaresborough Caravan Park. The current level of the River Nidd in Knaresborough is 1.45m and rising. No further significant rainfall is currently forecast. We are closely monitoring the situation. River levels are forecast to rise as a result of Storm Dennis. Consequently, flooding is possible during the night on Saturday 15/02/2020. Areas most at risk are riverside land at Knaresborough Caravan Park. A level of 1.7m is currently forecast to be reached between 4am and 5am on Sunday 16/02/2020. This is the level at which we expect properties to start flooding. Further heavy rainfall is forecast in two bands overnight Saturday 15/02/2020. We expect river levels to rise further overnight on Saturday 15/02/2020 and into Sunday 16/02/2020. Our incident response staff are closely monitoring the forecast.
