Flood Warning issued on 23 Dec 2020 20:47
River Ise
Heavy rain has fallen on the River Ise catchment today and is expected to continue into the early hours of tomorrow morning, Thursday, 24th December. The rising river levels have already caused flooding of low lying land and roads in and around Clipston, and due to the deteriorating weather conditions we now expect properties in Clipston to be affected, from this evening (23rd Dec) onwards. Low lying properties near the River Ise are most at risk. The river is forecast to continue to rise and peak overnight. The impacts are likely to last until tomorrow, and improve thereafter. Remain safe, be aware of your local surroundings and avoid contact with flood water. Avoid riverside paths and please stay away from river embankments. Our staff are out in the area to check the flood defences, clear blockages, and assist the Emergency Services and Council. We will be closely monitoring the situation, and this message will be updated on Thurs, 24th Dec, or as the situation changes.
