Our forecasts indicates an improving picture and flows are starting to reduce after the river level peaked earlier today, Saturday 29th February. The Northampton Washlands use is slowly being reduced due to the improving conditions. We predict the river levels will remain high for a couple of days whilst the Northampton Washlands empty. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings, and avoid contact with flood water. Avoid riverside paths and please stay away from river embankments. We will be closely monitoring the situation, this message will be updated by Sunday 1st March, or as the situation changes.

The rising river levels have already caused flooding of low lying land and roads in Middle Nene Catchment, we now expect caravans in Cogenhoe Mill Caravan Park to be at risk from the evening on Friday 28th February onwards. Low lying caravans in the park together with the access road are most at risk. We predict the river levels will peak from Saturday afternoon and remain high for a couple of days as the Northampton Washlands empty. Heavy rain has been falling in the River Nene catchment throughout Tuesday evening. This is causing the River Nene to rise and is forecast to continue to rise through Tuesday night. The rising river levels have already caused flooding of low lying land and roads, and due to the deteriorating weather conditions we now expect the access road to Cogenhoe Mill caravan site to be affected from Tuesday night onwards. We do not expect internal flooding of caravans to take place, but the site may be inaccessible due to rising water levels. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings. We expect the river to remain high throughout the next few days. Property flooding isn't expected, however the access road to Cogenhoe Mill caravan site is likely to be impacted.
