River Tyne
River levels have risen at the Haltwhistle river gauge as a result of persistent heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property/roads and farmland is expected between 07:00 and 15:00 today, 09/02/20. Areas most at risk are properties around Castle Glen, Station Court, Seldom Seen, Hadrian Varnish Works, Albion Works and Bellister Lodge.
Further heavy rainfall is forecast throughout the morning. We expect river levels to remain high until 15:00 on Sunday, 09/02/20.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences.
Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses.
