A FLOOD WARNING update has been issued for Kirkwall. The highest water levels have now passed but there may still be hazardous conditions around the harbour and Weyland Bay around the times of the next two high tides on Tuesday night around 1am and Wednesday around 1:30pm. Remain vigilant and remember, it is your responsibility to take actions which help protect yourself and your property. Advice and information is available through Floodline on 0345 9881188. Kirkwall
A FLOOD WARNING has been issued for Kirkwall. A combination of high tides and prevailing weather conditions means that wave overtopping is likely in Kirkwall around the harbour and Weyland Bay. Orkney Islands Council may need to close flood gates around the harbour. Please follow announcements from the council https://twitter/OIC_Roads Any vehicles at the harbour or the Ayre Road car park which are on the seaward side of the sea wall should be moved if possible and safe to do so. The highest risk will be a few hours either side of the high tide on Tuesday around 12:30pm. There may also be a risk of wave overtopping around the high tide on Monday night around 00:45. Remain vigilant and remember, it is your responsibility to take actions which help protect yourself and your property. Advice and information is also available through Floodline on 0345 9881188.
