A FLOOD WARNING update has been issued for Sanday. Spring high tides, storm surge and strong westerly winds have combined to bring a risk of coastal flooding over several days this week. There is a risk of coastal flooding in Sanday. Any low lying coastal roads and properties on the island exposed to westerly winds can expect hazardous conditions from waves and spray. In particular, roads around Silverhall, Cata Sands, Newbiggings and Burness at Quivals farm could be vulnerable. Flooding is possible around the high tide times during the day on Wednesday around 12.00 noon and again on Thursday lunchtime around 1.00 PM. This FLOOD WARNING UPDATE is now in force until further notice. If you havent already signed up to receive free flood messages, please call Floodline or register online at sepa.org.uk/floodingsignup.
