Rising river levels are causing flooding this evening as a result of heavy rainfall today. Flooding is expected from 8.40 PM on 26/01/2025. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Brue, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected, particularly around the A37 Bridgefoot Bridge and properties in Brue Close, Lovington. East Lydford ringbank is forecast to overtop if the river continues to rise. Further flooding is expected overnight as river levels are rising due to heavy rainfall. We are checking rivers for blockages and monitoring rainfall and river levels. Start acting on your flood plan if you have one. Activate any property flood protection products you may have. Refer to local authority website for road closures. This message will be updated by 1:00 PM on 27/01/2025, or as the situation changes.

River levels remain high on the River Brue following Saturday night’s heavy rainfall. The Lovington river gauge peaked at 11 AM on Sunday morning and levels are now falling. Flooding is expected to affect locations near the River Brue, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around the A37 Bridgefoot Bridge and properties in Brue Close, Lovington. The forecast is predominantly dry for the remainder of Sunday, and although river levels are still high, we expect them to continue falling during this period. We are monitoring rainfall and river levels and staff are checking rivers in the area. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk, cycle or drive through flood water. Remain aware of local water levels and weather conditions. River levels have risen on the River Brue due to heavy overnight rainfall. Flooding is expected at the A37 Bridgefoot Bridge and properties in Brue Close, Lovington. East Lydford ringbank is forecast to overtop if the river continues to rise. On current forecast, flooding is expected from 6:30 AM onwards on Sunday morning. Further rainfall is forecast this morning and river levels are expected to remain high throughout Sunday. We are monitoring rainfall and river levels closely. Start acting on your flood plan if you have one, and consider activating any property flood protection products you may have. Please avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. River levels are rising on the River Brue due to heavy rainfall earlier today. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Brue, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around the A37 Bridgefoot Bridge and properties in Brue Close, Lovington. East Lydford ringbank is forecast to overtop if the river continues to rise. Flooding of property is expected from 10:30 PM on 04/01/2024. Further rainfall is forecast this evening, but this will clear the area by midnight. River levels are however expected to remain high until Friday morning. We will continue to monitor levels closely.
