River levels are rising on the Parrett at Chiselborough as a result of heavy rainfall overnight.  Flooding is expected from 7:00 AM on 30/09/2024. Further rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Parrett, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected, particularly around the River Parrett downstream of Gawbridge and fields at Thorney and Kingsbury Episcopi. Further flooding is expected throughout the morning as river levels are rising due to heavy rainfall. We are closely monitoring the situation and closely monitoring the situation. Start acting on your flood plan if you have one. Never drive through flood water, just 30cm of fast flowing water is enough to move your car. Monitor local water levels and weather conditions. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Parrett, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around the River Parrett downstream of Gawbridge and fields at Thorney and Kingsbury Episcopi, from 12:30 PM on 07/12/2023. Further rain, heavy at times, is forecast today. Therefore, flooding remains possible over the next few days. We are monitoring rainfall and river levels. Our staff are checking flood defences and clearing weed screens. Please consider local water levels, weather conditions and your flood plan if you have one. Avoid using low lying footpaths, roads and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. River levels remain high but are beginning to fall on the River Parrett after yesterday’s rainfall. Areas that remain at risk are include the River Parrett downstream of Gawbridge and fields at Thorney and Kingsbury Episcopi. Today and tomorrow are forecast be mainly dry. However, further heavy rain is forecast from Wednesday night through Thursday. River levels are expected to rise in response. The weather will remain unsettled and further heavy rain is possible up to the weekend. We are monitoring rainfall and river levels and are checking rivers for blockages in the area. Avoid using low lying footpaths and roads near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. The level in the River Parrett at the Chiselborough river gauge has peaked earlier this morning following the heavy rainfall overnight and is now falling. This flood warning will remain in force during Thursday due to the high river level. Only the most vulnerable low lying properties will continue to be at risk of flooding downstream of Gawbridge and fields at Thorney and Kingsbury Episcopi. The heavy rainfall has now passed out of the area and minimal rain is forecast for the next few days. We will continue to monitor the situation and our incident response staff are clearing weed screens. Please keep any property flood resilience equipment in place and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers which may be flooded and refer to local authority website for local road closures. River levels have risen at the Chiselborough river gauge as a result of the heavy rainfall yesterday. Consequently, flooding could occur between 04:30 and 07:00 on 21/10/21. Only the most vulnerable low lying properties are at risk of flooding downstream of Gawbridge and fields at Thorney and Kingsbury Episcopi. Peak levels will be similar to the flooding in Nov 2001. No further rainfall is forecast. We expect river levels to rise until approximately 05:00 this morning, Thursday 21/10/21 and we will continue to monitor the situation. Please consider installing property flood resilience equipment and stay aware in case further warnings are issued. Avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers which may be flooded and refer to local authority website for local road closures.
