River levels have risen as a result of heavy rainfall this morning and there is now the possibility of the flooding of low lying properties in Roadwater and roads in Kingsbridge. Rainfall is forecast to continue until around midday today and river levels are likely to remain high during this afternoon. We are closely monitoring the situation. Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers which may be flooded and refer to local authority website for local road closures. The level of the Washford River is falling, but it is still high as a result of the weekend’s rainfall. Consequently, we are keeping this flood warning in force today and expect flooding to continue to affect properties in Roadwater and roads in Kingsbridge. We expect the river level to remain high throughout Monday. Largely dry conditions and isolated showers are forecast for Monday and Tuesday, and we expect river levels to continue dropping as a result. We are closely monitoring the situation. Consequently, we expect flooding to continue to affect properties in Roadwater and roads in Kingsbridge today, 01/03/2020. We expect the river level to remain high throughout Sunday. Isolated showers are forecast today with a band of more prolonged rain crossing the region tonight. We are closely monitoring the situation. Scattered blustery showers continue today, Tuesday 18/02/20, with a band of heavier showers forecast this afternoon. Showers will ease on Wednesday morning before a moderate band of rain arrives on Wednesday afternoon. The level of the Washford River remains high following the rain associated with Storm Dennis at the weekend. Catchments are saturated and rivers will be responsive to further rainfall this week. We believe the risk of flooding for properties in Roadwater and roads in Kingsbridge remains, and we expect river levels to remain high throughout Tuesday 18/02/2020. Incident staff are monitoring the situation closely, and our field teams continue to clear weed screens and check defences. The Washford River is above Flood Warning threshold and expected to continue to be overnight. Therefore the risk of flooding remains for riverside properties and roads. We are investigating what has flooded as a result of Storm Dennis. We expect river levels to remain high and responsive to any further heavy rain later in the week. We believe there is a possibility of flooding for properties in Roadwater and roads in Kingsbridge until Monday morning. Catchments are saturated, and rivers in West Somerset are rising in response to the heavy and persistent rainfall that has already fallen today. Consequently, flooding is expected to occur after 14:00 today, Saturday 15/02/2020. We believe there is a possibility of flooding for properties in Roadwater and roads in Kingsbridge. Further heavy rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours. We expect river levels to remain high throughout the weekend and early part of next week. River levels have now peaked but there remains a possibility of flooding for the properties in Roadwater and roads in Kingsbridge. Some scattered rainfall is forecast overnight, however the forecast improves thereafter with very low rainfall expected through Friday and Saturday. Further scattered rainfall is forecast over the next 6 hours, however the forecast improves thereafter with very low rainfall expected through Friday and Saturday. Monday 02/04/2018 will be largely dry however showers are forecast this evening and overnight into Tuesday morning. River levels on the Washford River at Beggearn Huish have fallen slightly since their peak around 2:30 am last night. Levels remain very close to flood warning threshold however and are expected to rise later this evening in response to the forecast rainfall.

The heaviest of this rain is due to fall between 11pm and 9am, with extensive showers following this during the day tomorrow. As a result of the recent heavy rainfall the river levels on the Washford River at Beggearn Huish are rising and although the rainfall is due to lessen soon the river is forecast to peak around 01:00 am today Thursday 15/03/2018. Flooding is likely and is forecast to affect properties in Roadwater including the Blacksmiths and Waterwheel Cottage in Tacker Street together with roads in Kingsbridge.
