Strong winds and spring tides may cause large waves and spray overtopping on the coast. Areas most at risk include the coastline between The Warren and Sea Lane End including Dunster Beach Chalets. The detailed tidal information for those who use it is for a peak level at Hinkley Point. Please note the high tide on Monday evening is not forecast to meet the Flood Warning threshold. The forecast high water is at 08:00 AM on 09/04/2024 with a level of 7.12 mAODN with westerly force 8 winds. (mAODN is height above average sea level - for more info refer to local tide tables.) Our incident response staff are closing flood gates and checking defences. We continue to monitor levels closely. Please be careful along beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads as large waves and sea spray could be dangerous. This Flood Warning has been issued due to the high tide forecast at 8:00 AM on 12/03/2024. Areas most at risk include the coastline between The Warren and Sea Lane End including Dunster Beach Chalets.. Flooding is expected at the coastline between The Warren and Sea Lane End including Dunster Beach Chalets. between 8:00 AM and 8:15 AM on 12/03/2024. We will continue to monitor the forecast and re-issue this alert/warning if necessary. Consider activating any property flood protection products. Plan driving routes to coastal roads, which may be flooded. This message will be updated by 3:00 PM on 12/03/2024, or as the situation changes.

Storm Eunice is expected to bring severe gale force winds across the Somerset coast early Friday and into Saturday, coinciding with spring tides. We are expecting this to cause very large and powerful waves along the coast, overtopping of sea defences is expected in places. Forecast high water is 07:45 on 18/2/22 with a level of 6.7 mAOD and a Force 8 South-west wind. All times are local and refer to the high water time at Hinkley Point; mAOD is height above average sea level. Flooding is possible two to three hours either side of the high tide. Areas most at risk are the Warren and Sea Lane End including Dunster Beach Chalets. Please be careful, especially along beaches, promenades and coastal footpaths and stay aware in case further warnings are issued. Coastal conditions should ease for the high tide at 08:30 on Saturday,19/2/22. Our incident response staff are closing flood gates and we are closely monitoring the situation. We will update this message as the situation changes and new information is available.

The forecast high water is at 18:30 on Saturday evening, 04/12/21, with a level of 6.35 mAOD and a Force 7 North Westerly wind. All times are local and refer to the high water time at Hinkely Point, mAOD is height above average sea level. Flooding to coastal areas and the most vulnerable properties is possible and may occur one to two hours either side of the high tide. The area most at risk is the coastline between The Warren and Sea Lane End including Dunster Beach Chalets. High spring tides will continue until Tuesday 07/12/21 but this flood warning is unlikely to be reissued after Saturday as the wind strength is forecast to reduce. Please consider installing property flood resilience equipment. Our incident response staff are closing flood gates.
