River levels have risen on the Midford Brook, Wellow Brook due to heavy rainfall and further heavy rainfall is forecast this evening and Thursday morning which will cause river levels to rise again. Areas most at risk include Monkton Combe School playing fields and the area around Thicketmead Bridge in Midsomer Norton. Our incident response staff are closing flood gates and checking defences and we will continue to monitor levels closely. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. Monitor local water levels and weather conditions.
