River levels have risen on the Midford Brook, Wellow Brook due to heavy rainfall and further heavy rainfall is forecast this evening and Thursday morning which will cause river levels to rise again.
Areas most at risk include Monkton Combe School playing fields and the area around Thicketmead Bridge in Midsomer Norton.
Our incident response staff are closing flood gates and checking defences and we will continue to monitor levels closely.
Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water.
Monitor local water levels and weather conditions. Consider putting your flood plan into action.

River levels are rising on the Midford Brook, Wellow Brook due to rainfall. Areas most at risk include Monkton Combe School playing fields and the area around Thicketmead Bridge in Midsomer Norton. Flooding is possible at Monkton Combe School playing fields and the area around Thicketmead Bridge in Midsomer Norton. from 9:00 AM on 18/02/2024.
No further rainfall is forecast. River levels are rising. We are monitoring rainfall and river levels and are checking rivers for blockages in the area. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water.

River levels on the Midford Brook are high as a result of heavy rainfall associated with Storm Dennis overnight. We believe there is a possibility of flooding for Monkton Combe School playing fields and the area around Thicketmead Bridge in Midsomer Norton. Further heavy and at times, persistent rainfall is forecast over the next 8 hours. River levels can rise quickly in response to further rainfall. We are closely monitoring the situation. Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded and consider installing property flood resilience equipment as a precaution. This message will be updated on Monday afternoon 17/02/20, or as the situation changes.

River levels are forecast to rise overnight at the Midford river gauge as a result of heavy and persistent rainfall. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is possible between 01:00 and 13:00 tomorrow, 19/12/2019. We believe there is a possibility of flooding for Monkton Combe School playing fields and the area around Thicketmead Bridge in Midsomer Norton.
Further heavy showers are forecast over Thursday and Friday. We expect river levels to remain high until the weekend.
Our incident response staff are checking defences and clearing weed screens.
Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.

Further persistent heavy rainfall is forecast over the next 3 hours. River levels can rise very quickly in response to heavy rainfall. We are closely monitoring the situation.
