Flood Alert issued on 31 May 2018 15:21
Horner Water, River Aller, Washford River, Hawkcombe Stream, Monksilver Stream, Doniford Stream
Isolated thundery rainfall is forecast this afternoon and into the evening of the 31st May 2018, however the rainfall amount and exact location is uncertain. Localised thunderstorms may cause some surface water flooding where water is not able to drain away. This unsettled weather is expected to continue into Friday. Whilst river levels of the West Somerset Streams are stable and have not met criteria we are issuing the Flood Alert to raise awareness. This is largely due to the nature of the rainfall and that the West Somerset Streams can react quickly to intense rainfall. We are constantly monitoring river levels. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings, flood waters may be deep and fast flowing. Please refer to river levels on the internet for current river levels. This message will be updated this evening (31/05/18).
