The forecast high water is at 18:00 on Saturday 06/04/2024, with a level of 5.30 mAOD and a Force 6 Southerly wind. The wind is forecast to increase to Force 7 soon after the peak of the tide, therefore strong wind and the high tide level may cause large waves and spray overtopping for up to an hour after the peak of the tide. All times are local and refer to the high water time at Hinkley Point. mAOD is height above average sea level. For more detail refer to local tide tables. This Flood Alert has been issued due to the high tide forecast at 09:15 PM, tonight, Sunday 31/12/2023. Strong winds and spring tides may cause large waves and spray overtopping on the coast this evening. Areas most at risk include the coastline between Gore Point and Hurlstone Point including Porlock Weir. No property flooding is expected. The detailed tidal information is for a peak level at Hinkley Point of 4.46 mAODN at 09:15 PM on 31/12/2023, with westerly force 8 winds. (mAODN is height above average sea level - for more info refer to local tide tables.) After this tide‚ the tide heights will fall and wind speeds will drop and no further impacts are expected.
