River levels are now falling on the River Don as rainfall reduces through the night 21/10/2023. As a result there is no longer a risk of flooding in areas adjacent to the river. Our incident room is open, and we are closely monitoring the situation. We will continue to monitor the forecast and will re-issue this alert/warning if necessary. Continue to take care on waterside roads and footpaths and don't put yourself in unnecessary danger. There may still be some areas where flood water is present until it can naturally drain away. River levels are rising in the River Don due to persistent rainfall. Flooding in areas adjacent to the river, such as Savile Street, is possible this afternoon, Friday 20th October 2023. As rainfall is expected throughout today, river levels are expected to remain high. Our incident room is open, and we are closely monitoring the situation. Monitor local water levels and weather conditions and consider putting your flood plan into action. You should avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water.
