Flooding may affect locations near the River Rother at Beighton, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected, particularly around Woodhouse Lane, Rotherham Road, and Crown Works Industrial Estate. There is no significant rainfall forecast for today, Monday 25 November, and it is anticipated that river levels will continue to fall. River levels have risen through Sunday 24 November, following heavy rainfall and snowmelt associated with Storm Bert. Levels appear to be peaking now at Woodhouse but are approaching a level where flooding may affect nearby properties. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Rother at Beighton, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected, particularly around Woodhouse Lane, Rotherham Road, and Crown Works Industrial Estate. The main areas of rainfall have now moved away and river levels should start to fall overnight and through Monday, November 25th We have staff on site to assess the current situation. Our incident response staff are closely monitoring the forecast. Please act on your flood plan. Move your family and pets to a safe place. Move your car or other vehicles to higher ground, if it is safe to do so, plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. Areas most at risk of flooding include Beighton, including Woodhouse Lane and Rotherham Road and Crown Works Industrial Estate. Whilst levels have responded slightly to today’s rainfall, any further rain will subside this evening, so we do not expect levels to rise much further and will gradually continue to drop.
