River levels have risen at the Marchington river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall overnight. Consequently, flooding of property, roads and farmland is possible this morning, Sunday 23/02/20. We are issuing this flood warning as a precautionary measure as flood water may be on the roads in the village of Marchington, and vehicles driving through this may put property at risk.. Further rain showers are possible over the next 12 hours. We expect river levels to rise until later this morning, Sunday 23/02/20. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are actively checking river levels and the weather forecast. Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded and activate any property flood protection products you may have, such as flood barriers and air brick covers. Please take care in the area as flood water could be deep and fast flowing. The rain is forecast to clear away later tonight but river levels will remain high.
