This message has been issued because flooding of homes and businesses is likely overnight tonight Sunday 18 February 2024. River levels are continuing to rise following today's rain and will remain responsive to any further rainfall. Areas most at risk are Spring Row, the Football ground, Cardinalls Road, Crown Street, Pound Lane, Bond Street, Regent Street, Station Road, Prentice Road, Needham Road Industrial Estate in Stowmarket. The forecast is for a generally improving weather picture, but with the chance of the odd shower pushing through the catchment. The forecast is for some light showers on Monday 19 February and Tuesday 20 February. Flood water is dangerous. Don't put yourself or others at risk. We are monitoring the situation.
