Arun
Less than 10mm of rain was measured last night. River levels have peaked and are already falling in Horsham, with minimal impacts. River levels near Broadbridge Heath will continue to rise Tuesday morning 10/3/2020, and until the afternoon in Pallingham. Fine drizzle Tuesday evening 10/3/2020 could accumulate another 5mm by Wednesday morning, and maybe generate another minimal river response. Flooding of property seems unlikely, but minor flood impacts affecting fields, some gardens and roads between Broadbridge Heath and Pallingham could still be possible. There are currently no large amounts of rain forecast for the rest of the working week. From Wednesday, river levels should be able to slowly fall until the weekend. Please keep flood protection products installed as a precaution, if you have them, and plan to avoid driving through roads prone to flooding. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. We will update this message by 12:00 11/3/2020.

River levels are near normal between Horsham and Wanford. River levels are still higher than normal at Newbridge near Billingshurst and Pallingham, because of the heavy rain last week. Rainfall totals for this evening and into Tuesday morning 10/3/2020 are predicted to be 10-20mm, which will cause river levels to rise along the Upper Arun. If we receive the higher totals, minor flood impacts could affect fields, some gardens and roads in Horsham and Broadbridge Heath from 05:00 10/3/2020, and 15:00 in Pallingham. The weather will remain unsettled for the rest of the week, but in general there should be less rain. Rivers should be able to fall towards more normal levels from Wednesday 11/3/2020. Please install flood protection products now, in Wanford, if you have them. Our automatic sluice at Provender Mill is operating to help reduce the risk of flooding through Horsham. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. We will update this message by 12:00 10/3/2020.

River levels at Newbridge near Billingshurst, and Pallingham are still higher than normal. Rain Sunday morning was less than predicted and the few showers Sunday 08/03/2020 will only cause river levels to rise between Horsham, Broadbridge Heath and Wanford by a minimal amount. Flood impacts affecting fields, gardens and roads in the Pallingham area should reduce during Sunday. Further widespread rain Monday evening (09/03/2020) is expected to cause river levels to rise higher, from 22:00 Monday 09/03/2020, but still only by a relatively small amount. There may be further periods of rain Tuesday to Thursday 12/03/2020, but none are currently predicted to bring as much rain as Monday. Flood risk may reduce later in the week.
