The River Ouse is high and rising. 30mm of rain has been recorded at Ardingly, in only a few hours Thursday, which is a lot in a short period of time. From 04:00 05/01/2024 flooding will affect properties at Bridge Cottage and Dean's Water Mill at Lindfield Bridge on the B2028 near Lindfield. Flood water will also be extensive through fields, on rural roads, and in gardens. A further 5mm of rain is expected through the early hours of Friday. Very little rain is forecast Friday daytime through to next week. The river should begin to fall by 08:00 05/01/2024, and should return to normal from Saturday. Riverside properties at Dean's Water Mill and Lindfield Bridge are encouraged to install flood protection products if you have them and take steps to reduce the impact of flooding. The River Ouse is high and rising. In the last 48 hours, half a month's rain (50mm) has been recorded at Ardingly. From 05:00 17/11/2022 flooding will affect fields, rural roads, gardens and affect properties at Bridge Cottage and Dean's Water Mill at Lindfield Bridge on the B2028 near Lindfield. Rain is expected to clear by 04:00 Thursday 17/11/2022, leaving Thursday and Friday mostly dry. The river should begin to fall by 16:00 17/11/2022 but will be higher than normal until Friday morning. River levels could end up similar to those seen in March 2020. Riverside properties at Dean's Water Mill and Lindfield Bridge are encouraged to install flood protection products if you have them and take steps to reduce the impact of flooding. The River Ouse is high at Lindfield Bridge, following Wednesday's heavy rain. However, water levels are now slowly falling. Flooding will continue to affect properties at Bridge Cottage and Dean's Water Mill at Lindfield Bridge on the B2028 near Lindfield, as well as fields, rural roads, gardens. Very little rain is forecast until Sunday, which will enable the river to continue to slowly fall, and associated flood impacts to ease, through Thursday, and should return to more normal flows by Friday. Please keep flood protection products in place, if you have them, while residual flood impacts remain. The River Ouse is high and rising. Over half a month's rain (55mm) has been measured at Ardingly in the past 24 hours, nearly half of that from Storm Aurore on Wednesday evening. From 03:30 21/10/2021 flooding will affect properties at Bridge Cottage and Dean's Water Mill at Lindfield Bridge on the B2028 near Lindfield, as well as fields, rural roads and gardens. A further 5mm of rain is expected before the rain clears eastwards at 03:00 21/10/2021. Thursday, Friday and Saturday are then forecast to remain dry. The river should begin to fall by 09:00 21/10/2021, but might not return to normal until Friday. River levels will peak higher than they have all year. Riverside properties are encouraged to install flood protection products if you have them, and take steps to reduce the impact of flooding. River levels are still high on the Ouse, but have now peaked and are beginning to fall through Lindfield Bridge, after Storm Dennis' widespread heavy rain. Flood impacts will continue to affect fields, gardens, roads and isolated properties, including Bridge House and Deans Mill, Lindfield Bridge. Please continue to take care in and around flood affected areas, flood water can contain hidden dangers. Rain has now cleared, and only isolated showers are expected until Thursday 20/2/2020. These showers are unlikely to cause river levels to rise significantly, if at all. River levels may not return to normal until Monday afternoon 17/2/2020. The Upper Ouse is rising quickly after 30mm of rainfall due to Storm Dennis. A further 10 mm is possible by 15:00 16/02/2020. River levels are rising and property flooding is expected from 10:30 16/02/2020. Water will also affect fields, gardens, and roads. Impacts could be similar to Christmas 2019. Locations could include: Bridge House and Deans Mill, Lindfield Bridge. Water may begin to approach Grange Farm. Rain will ease Sunday afternoon. With only isolated showers through to midweek, river levels should begin to fall by Monday afternoon 17/02/2020. Please install flood protection products in Lindfield Bridge, now, if you have them. River levels have fallen following Friday’s heavy rain. More widespread rain is forecast from 17:00 today 21/12/2019 until 08:00 22/12/2019, and rivers will rise in response to this rainfall. Flooding is possible from 23:00 21/12/2019. Locations to be affected will include a small number of properties around Bridge House, Deans Mill, and Lindfield Bridge. Fields, gardens and rural roads will also be affected by flooding. River levels will peak by 12:00 22/12/2019, and then slowly fall. Sunday and Monday should stay largely dry, but rain is forecast for Tuesday (24/12/2019), which may cause river levels to rise again. Locations affected will include a small number of properties around Bridge House and Deans Mill, Lindfield Bridge. Fields, gardens and rural roads will also be affected by flooding. A small amount of rain early Saturday morning will be followed by more widespread rain between 17:00 Saturday 21/12/2019 and 08:00 Sunday 22/12/2019. While river levels may fall slightly Friday night and Saturday morning, by Sunday (22/12/2019) river levels will likely return to heights similar to Friday, if not higher. The widespread rain should clear from 09:00 20/12/2019, leaving a largely dry day Friday, apart from isolated showers. Widespread rain will return from 15:00 Saturday 21/12/2019. River levels will continue to rise until 18:00 20/12/2019, but further increases should be expected Saturday evening 21/12/2019 following the next band of rain.
