The Western Rother is still very high at Lodsbridge near Selham, following Sunday's rain, but is now falling. Flood water will continue to affect fields, and gardens of properties at Lodsbridge, near Selham through Monday. Only showers are forecast Monday and Tuesday. The river should continue to fall, but flood impacts will remain until Tuesday. The river will not fall nearer to a normal level until Tuesday evening. Another 10-20mm of rain is forecast on Wednesday and again on Friday, which could cause levels to rise again. Minor flood impacts will again be possible Wednesday. Flood protection products are recommended to be kept installed at Lodsbridge, if you have them. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. We will update this message by 20:00 on 07/01/2025.

The Western Rother is high and rising. 45mm of rain has been recorded at Liss on Sunday, nearly half a month's worth in one day. From 21:00 05/01/2025 flood water will affect fields, gardens, rural roads and properties at Lodsbridge, near Selham. River levels are also very high on the Lod, properties near Lickfold Bridge, Highstead Lane and at Halfway Bridge could also be affected by flooding. Only isolated showers are forecast Sunday evening and Monday. The river should begin to fall by 06:00 06/01/2025, but will not fall nearer to a normal level until Tuesday afternoon. River levels will likely peak a little higher than in November 2024. Flood protection products are recommended to be installed at Lodsbridge, if you have them. The Western Rother is still higher than normal at Lodsbridge near Selham, but has fallen significantly, and continues to fall, following Wednesday morning's rain. Only isolated showers are predicted Thursday through to Saturday. The river is expected to continue falling. Flood water will remain in fields and on some roads on Friday, reducing by Saturday. On Sunday 01/12/2024, another 10-20mm of rain is forecast. The Western Rother is expected to rise again, although currently not thought to rise as high. However, minor flood impacts could still be possible. Early actions to reduce potential impacts at Lodsbridge and Fittleworth are encouraged. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. We will re-issue this Flood Warning if property flooding becomes expected.

The river should continue to fall, however it will not return nearer to a normal level until Friday afternoon. On Sunday 01/12/2024, another 10-20mm of rain is forecast. From 20:30 27/11/2024 flood water will affect fields, gardens, rural roads and isolated properties at Lodsbridge, near Selham. Properties on the Lod could also be affected, including near Lickfold Bridge, Highstead Lane and at Halfway Bridge. Only isolated showers are forecast Wednesday evening through to Saturday. The river should begin to fall by 07:00 28/11/2024, but will not return nearer to a normal level until next week. River levels could end up similar to heights seen in January 2024. Flood water will continue to affect properties at Lodsbridge, near Selham, and could also affect the A285 and properties at Coultershaw Bridge, near Petworth. Flood water will be extensive through fields and also affect gardens and rural roads. River levels on the Lod are already slowly falling, so minor flood impacts should reduce on the Lod, near Lickfold Bridge, Highstead Lane and at Halfway Bridge. Very little rain is forecast for the next five days. The river should begin to fall by 14:00 on 05/01/2024, and return nearer to normal levels by Sunday (07/01/2024). Flood impacts will continue to affect fields, gardens, roads near South Ambersham and Shopham Bridge including mill properties at Lodsbridge (Selham), Rotherbridge Lane and Coultershaw Bridge. Properties may still be affected. Please continue to take care in and around flood affected areas, flood water can contain hidden dangers. River levels are rising and property flooding is expected from 09:30 16/02/2020. As well as water affecting fields, gardens, roads. Flooding could be deep. Impacts could be similar to Christmas 2013. Locations could include: Rural roads and properties including and between South Ambersham and Shopham Bridge including mill properties at Lodsbridge (Selham), Rotherbridge Lane and Coultershaw Bridge. Rain will ease Sunday afternoon. With only isolated showers through to midweek, river levels should begin to fall by Monday evening 17/2/2020.
