At Bosham High Street, water will be near to or flood front door steps. Gardens or land of shore side properties around the Harbour could also be affected. Thursday afternoon's tide at 14:00 19/12/2024 is forecast to be 34 cm lower (2.16 mAOD). Strong winds and large waves are forecast for the next five days. For 2 hours either side of high water, flooding of Bosham Quay, Shore Road, Bosham High Street and West Itchenor is expected. The strong winds and large waves may also affect more exposed parts of Chichester Harbour, including Thorney Island, the Witterings, and Bracklesham where the tide could be near the top of the beach, with a possibility of water flowing into ditches behind. Monday's early morning tide at 02:15 21/10/2024 is forecast to be 57 cm lower (2.0 mAOD). With tides next week forecast to be lower, no further flood impacts are expected from Monday onwards. Strong South Westerly Force 5 to 6 winds will continue throughout Tuesday (02/02/2021), before easing on Wednesday (03/02/2021). Wave heights are still large and will increase Tuesday evening, before decreasing on Thursday (04/02/2021). Shingle will still be moved and wave spray will affect sea front areas, particularly over the high tide periods (which are 14:30 on 02/02/2021, 03:00 and 15:15 on 03/02/2021). Small amounts of water may still potentially affect nearby fields, roads and beach top properties. However, the waves are not expected to run up the beach quite as much as they did on Monday. Friday’s tides at 01:45 and 14:00 13/3/2020 will be at least 20cm lower than experienced on Wednesday and Thursday. With wave heights increasing from Thursday night however, minor flood impacts may remain similar to recent days. The strong Force 7 Westerly winds will increase tide table values by 0.1m. The total forecast tide is 5.13 metres Chart Datum (2.39 mAOD) at Chichester Harbour. For 1 hour either side of high water, the tide will flood Shore Road. At Bosham High Street, water will be near to, or will flood front door steps. Gardens or land of shore side properties around the Harbour could also be affected. From Saturday 14/3/2020, we should see smaller wave heights, lower tides and only minimal risk of flooding. We continue to monitor the forecast. Thursday afternoon's tide at 13:15 on 12/03/2020 is higher than normal due to unsettled weather with strong Westerly Force 6 winds. The weather increases tide table values by 0.25 m. The total forecast tide is 5.35 metres Chart Datum (2.61 mAOD) at Chichester Harbour, which is very similar to that seen Wednesday lunchtime 11/3/2020. For 1 hour either side of high water, flooding will affect a small number of properties in Bosham High Street. Water will be high up slipways in West Itchenor. Gardens or land of shore side properties around Chichester Harbour will also be affected. Tides Friday 13/3/2020 should be 20cm lower (but with large offshore waves Thursday night), with flood risk becoming very low from Saturday. We continue to monitor the forecast. The total forecast tide is 5.24 metres Chart Datum (2.50 mAOD) at Chichester Harbour. For 1 hour either side of high water, the tide will flood Shore Road. At Bosham High Street, water will be near to or flood front door steps. Gardens or land of shore side properties around the Harbour could also be affected. The tide 13:00 Thursday 12/3/2020 will be higher, with similar impacts to 12:15 11/3/2020. Flood impacts should reduce from the weekend. We continue to monitor the forecast. The weather increases tide table values by 0.26 m. The total forecast tide is 5.39 metres Chart Datum (2.65 mAOD) at Chichester Harbour. For 1 hour either side of high water, flooding will affect a small number of properties in Bosham High Street. Water will be high up slipways in West Itchenor. Gardens or land of shore side properties around Chichester Harbour will also be affected. The tide at 13:00 Thursday 12/3/2020 is forecast to be of similar height. Winds will strengthen and wave heights increase Thursday afternoon, but tide levels are predicted to be 10 cm lower and flood risk should continue to reduce over the next few days, despite Storm Dennis. Monday afternoon's tide at 12:00 on 10/02/2020 is higher than normal due to Storm Ciara which brings strong Force 7 winds. The weather increases tide table values by 0.54 m. The total forecast tide is 5.50 metres Chart Datum (2.76 mAOD) at Chichester Harbour. For 2 hours either side of high water, property flooding is expected in Bosham High Street. A Flood Warning is in force in this location. Water will be high up slipways in West Itchenor, and some shore side properties in Chichester Harbour will flood. Strong winds and large waves are expected from 08:00 on Sunday 9/2/2020. There is a risk of flooding from spray. High tides, large waves and the risk of flooding will remain until Thursday 13/2/2020.
