River levels should mostly continue to fall. Unsettled weather could continue throughout February. On Tuesday and Wednesday bands of rain are forecast. If as much rain falls as predicted, from Tuesday evening, minor flooding could again affect fields, roads, and possibly gardens of isolated properties between Coolham and Henfield. The River Adur is higher than normal, but slowly falling, following Thursday's rain. Minor flood impacts affecting gardens, fields and roads should continue to ease between Coolham and Henfield. Scattered showers are forecast Friday and Saturday. It is currently thought most rain should miss the Adur catchment, and river levels should continue to fall. However, there is uncertainty in rainfall locations, and a small amount of river rise could be possible. River levels should not rise as high as they were Thursday. Widespread rain is possible Sunday afternoon through to Monday afternoon. The river is expected to rise again and property flooding is possible in all communities Sunday or Monday 26/02/2024. From 21:00 22/02/2024 flooding could affect property at Slaughter Bridge on the Coolham road, as well as isolated farm buildings, fields and rural roads between Coolham and Henfield. It is possible water may approach gardens of Church Close, Shipley. Only very small amounts of rain are forecast Friday. However, intense isolated showers are forecast from Saturday. Sunday's rain has now cleared and Monday (19/02/2024) is forecast to be dry. The river should begin to fall by 16:00 on 18/02/2024, returning nearer to normal by Monday.
