The flood warning for the River Wharfe at Addingham remains in force. River levels have been dropping in the upper catchments, but are now rising due to local rainfall. Levels are not expected to rise much further or reach yesterday’s levels. We are not expecting large amounts of rainfall through today and expect to remove the flood warning later on. We are monitoring river levels closely. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. Plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. Visit the GOV.UK website for a 5 day flood forecast and up to date river levels. Levels on the River Wharfe have have fallen overnight and are forecast to continue falling, however they remain higher than usual. A flood warning has been issued for River Wharfe at Addingham as river levels are rising quickly. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Wharfe, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around High Mill and Olicana Caravan Park, Low Mill Village. Further rainfall is expected for the rest of Sunday 20/02/2022 and into tomorrow Monday 21/02/2022. We are monitoring river levels closely. This flood warning has been issued as river levels are forecast to rise as a result of heavy rainfall on Sunday. Consequently, flooding of property, roads and land in Addingham is expected today Monday 2nd November. Areas most at risk are properties in Addingham, starting at Low Mill Village. The River Wharfe at Addingham is expected to peak at just over 2.5m at around 06:00 – 08:00 today, Monday. Please activate any property flood protection products you may have, such as flood barriers and air brick covers, and stay away from fast moving water. We are issuing the flood warning for River Wharfe at Addingham due to heavy rain associated with Storm Ciara. Widespread heavy rain accompanied by high winds overnight on Saturday continuing into Sunday afternoon, 09/02/2020 are causing rivers and watercourses to rise. The level of the Wharfe at Addingham is now 2.45m and is forecast to continue to rise through Sunday afternoon, peaking at about 2.6m in the early evening. We are monitoring the situation closely.
